Space Availability - Audio-Visual Recording Booths

The recording booths in the Scholar Studio are equipped with multimedia hardware and software for media production and editing. Both booths are set up for recording audio and/or video and include a computer, webcam, microphone, headphones, and other equipment. One booth contains a PC running Windows 10 and one contains an iMac running OS High Sierra. If you have specific software needs, make sure to check the list of software on each machine on the Scholar Studio page before booking a booth.

The booths are for the use of WCU students, faculty, and staff. The booths can be reserved for up to 4 hours a day and for a total of 8 hours a week. While the computers inside have a variety of editing software installed on them, the booths are designed primarily for recording audio and video. For more intensive editing needs, the Scholar Studio also contains 2 iMacs and 2 PCs designed for editing content. For more information on the editing stations check out the Scholar Studio page on the Hunter Library site.

To access the booth at your reservation time, you will need to check out a key from the circulation desk on the main floor of the library. If you do not arrive within 15 minutes of your reservation time, the booth will revert to unreserved and become available for others. If you are looking for help with recording or editing your project, contact the Scholar Studio at scholarstudio@wcu.edu to make an appointment.
